About the Gold Loan Calculator
A gold loan is the fastest secured credit available in India: jewellery is assessed and money disbursed, often within an hour, with no income proof and no credit score requirement. The RBI caps the loan-to-value ratio at 75% for most gold loans, so ₹1 lakh of assessed gold supports about ₹75,000 of borrowing.
The assessment is on the gold content only. A 22-carat ornament is 91.6% gold, so the lender values it at 91.6% of the prevailing 24-carat rate — stones, enamel and the making charges you originally paid count for nothing.
The formula
Repayment can be a standard EMI, or a bullet scheme where you pay interest monthly and the principal at the end.

Frequently asked questions
At a 24K rate of ₹9,500 per gram, 22-carat jewellery is valued at about ₹8,700 per gram, and at the 75% LTV cap that supports roughly ₹6,525 of loan per gram. Change the rate above to match today's price.
No. The loan is secured by the gold itself, so lenders rarely check the bureau. This makes it the practical option for applicants with a thin or damaged credit file.
The lender issues notices and, after the statutory notice period, auctions the pledged gold. Any surplus over the dues is returned to you. Communicate early — most lenders will restructure rather than auction.
